Giving Back Where It Matters Most: Supporting Education & Nutrition in Manchester, Jamaica.
Building Brighter Futures Through Community Partnerships

At the Jamel Delano Brooks Foundation, we believe that real change begins in the classroom—and often, with a single meal. That’s why we were honored to contribute to the New Broughton Primary & Infant School in Manchester, Jamaica, with a donation of $800 to support school expansion and daily breakfast for students.
In a letter received from Principal Ian Crawford, the school expressed heartfelt gratitude for our support in helping them meet urgent needs:
“This contribution will definitely assist with some of the needs at our institution.”
That message alone reinforces what we stand for—uplifting communities by filling in the gaps where it counts.
Why This School, and Why Now?
Located in the heart of Manchester, Jamaica, New Broughton Primary & Infant School serves as more than a place of learning. It is a hub of hope, nourishment, and safety for young children in the community.
Unfortunately, like many under-resourced schools, they face:
- Limited space for growing classrooms
- Insufficient funding for basic infrastructure
- Daily hunger that interferes with focus and learning
When we learned about their need to expand the school building and support the breakfast program, we knew we had to act.
Food Fuels Learning
The donation directly contributes to a school breakfast initiative, ensuring children don’t start their school day on an empty stomach.
Studies consistently show that children who eat breakfast:
- Perform better academically
- Have improved concentration
- Display more positive classroom behavior
For us, this isn’t just charity—it’s equity in action.
