Jamel D. Brooks Foundation Expands Impact in Jamaica with School Support and Breakfast Initiative

In March, the Jamel D. Brooks Foundation made a meaningful and hands-on impact in Jamaica through a special visit led by its president, Japheth Brooks.

During this visit to Manchester, Jamaica, the foundation partnered with leadership at New Broughton Primary & Infant School, under the direction of Ian Crawford, to support both educational growth and student well-being.

Supporting School Expansion

As part of the foundation’s commitment to education, funds were donated to assist with the expansion of the school, including the addition of two new sections.

These improvements will help reduce overcrowding and create a more comfortable, structured learning environment for students. The expansion represents not just physical growth, but a meaningful investment in the future of the children and the community. In addition, President Brooks presented a $2,000 donation to support hurricane relief efforts, further demonstrating his commitment to both education and community support.

Recognizing that students learn best when their basic needs are met, Mr. Brooks also contributed funds to support a daily breakfast program at the school.

In addition, a direct donation was made to Principal Crawford to help sustain and manage the breakfast initiative. This effort ensures that students start their day nourished, focused, and ready to learn.

This initiative reflects the heart of the Jamel D. Brooks Foundation—meeting real needs in real communities. The visit was not just about donations, but about connection, presence, and purpose.

By working directly with school leadership and the local community, the foundation ensures that its contributions create lasting, meaningful change.

Looking Ahead

The Jamel D. Brooks Foundation remains committed to expanding its outreach and continuing its mission of supporting education, nutrition, and community development across Jamaica and beyond.

Through initiatives like this, the foundation is helping to build stronger futures—one classroom, one meal, and one child at a time.
